Let us now explore the ‘Sa Rua Carnival’, one of the most popular and electrifying festivals in the city.
The ‘Sa Rua Carnival’ fills the city with colour and energy and is celebrated in the last days before Lent starts. Most of the cities and towns in Spain have carnivals before Lent, but the best and the biggest one is held at Palma. Parades are organised and people and groups make floats to participate.
The carnival has all the fun things like parties, events, live music shows, etc. along with delicious food. People start preparations weeks before the carnival to make it a success. A procession for the kids is also organised and is called the ‘Sa Rueta’ which later on follows its adult version. Prizes are given out for the best costumes and people actively participate by donning some of the most creative costumes ever.
